Hasegawa HAS-21210 (HC10) 1/24 Volkswagen Type 2 Micro Bus (1963) “23-Windows”
In February 1950, Heinrich Nordhoff, then chief executive of Volkswagen, unveiled a handy transporter called type 2.
Made by combining the Beetle's suspension with a box-shaped body, type 2
is the second best-selling model after the Beetle.
The Type 2, which started in March 1950 with a commercial delivery van, will continue to add a variety of variant models.
The Samba of the micro bus, a combination that gained popularity as a convenient cargo car, is a model that has been useful not only for private use, but also for transportation and business use.
The first Type 2, made from 1950 to 1966, is still a popular model, with a
front window divided into two pieces and a great number of variations.
