Hasegawa 40110 1/350 IJN Destroyer Yukikaze Ten-ichi Detail Up Version
Operation Tianyi—often recognized in Western sources as part of the broader “Operation Ten-Go” or “Operation Heaven”—was a desperate, one-way mission undertaken by the Imperial Japanese Navy in the final months of World War II. In early April 1945, as Allied forces were decisively landing on Okinawa, Japan assembled a small fleet for what was essentially a suicide attack. The centerpiece was the battleship Yamato, the largest battleship ever built, accompanied by the light cruiser Yahagi and a contingent of destroyers. Their mission was to disrupt the massive Allied amphibious landing with a decisive blow, even if it meant sacrificing their own lives and hardware.
This is Hasegawa special edition of “Yukikaze” with special modification for the mission. A deluxe version with etched parts for detailing!
