The Skyhawk single-seat final model [A-4M] is an aircraft developed for the US Marine Corps.
At the same time when deployment of the A-7 Corsair II to the US Navy began and the leading role of the carrier-capable attack aircraft was changed from A-4 to A-7, the US Marine Corps landed the A-4M instead of the A-7. Adopted as an attack aircraft.
For the M type, the engine was replaced with the J52-P-408A, and the intake was also enlarged accordingly.
The outline of the vertical stabilizer has also been changed to a square shape. A larger type of windshield is also installed.
